CRÒNICA DE UN FRACASO: DOS EUROPDIPUTADOS ESPAÑOLES Y 10 ESTRANJEROS NO CONSIGUIERON LOS 369 VOTOS QUE NECESITÁBAMOS PARA LOS GALGOS

 NO CONSEGUIMOS LAS FIRMAS, LOS GALGOS SIGUEN DESPROTEGIDOS. QUISIMOS SABER EN QUÉ HABÍAMOS FALLADO LOS ANIMALISTAS. NO HUBO RESPUESTA. EN JULIO ESTABA YA TODO EL MUNDO DE VACACIONES Y LUEGO HABÍA QUE PREPARAR LA REELECCIÓN O EL TRASPASO. NUNCA ES TARDE QUEREMOS SABER COMO APOYAR LAS INICIATIVAS DE PROTECCIÓN ANIMAL QUE TOMEN LOS EURODIPUTADOS. Y NO VALEN LOS ANIMALISTAS DE CABECERA, O AL MENOS NO SÓLO ELLOS.
LA OPORTUIDAD PERDIDA:
A new written declaration which seeks to put an immediate stop to the torture and mistreatment of greyhounds in Europe has been opened for signatures during the last plenary session in Strasbourg. Greyhounds are generally used for hunting and racing in many Member States of the European Union and are liable to be subjected to torture by their owners if they regard the animals as unsuitable for that purpose.
This new declaration has been launched on 15 April 2013 by Members of the European Parliament Michèle Striffler, Michel Dantin, Dan Jorgensen, Raul Romeva i Rueda, Kartika Tamara Liotard, Santiago Fisas Ayxela, Sirpa Pietikainen, Cristian Dan Preda, Iva Zanicchi, Sonia Alfano, Gianni Vattimo, and Andrea Zanoni. So far the declaration has been signed by 19 MEPs. To be adopted the declaration must be signed by at least 369 MEPs (half of the House) before
15 July 2013 when it will lapse.
The Intergroup calls on all  MEPs to  support this written declaration with their signature.
